Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson Presents MCBA with Special Recognition for Civic Leadership

February 23rd, 2026

The Metroplex Civic & Business Association (MCBA) is proud to announce that it has received a special formal recognition from Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson. The Mayor presented the commendation during MCBA’s recent leadership luncheon on February 3, acknowledging the organization’s dedicated service to the City of Dallas and the broader Metroplex.

Introduced at the event by Doug Hutt, chairman and CEO of Dallas Capital Bank, Mayor Johnson specifically highlighted MCBA’s ongoing, proactive efforts to address critical regional challenges—ranging from public safety to homelessness—while successfully convening executive leaders from more than 100 companies to drive collaborative solutions.

“It was a distinct honor to receive special recognition from Mayor Eric Johnson, highlighting the MCBA’s dedicated service to the City of Dallas and the five counties of the Metroplex,” said Onyinye Akujuo, president and CEO of MCBA. “We deeply valued the Mayor’s candid dialogue regarding his vision for attracting premier corporations to our region. Seeing nearly the entire Dallas City Council in attendance was a testament to our shared commitment to collaborative governance, which remains essential as we address our city’s most pressing priorities.”

This recognition serves as a powerful milestone for MCBA as the organization continues its mission to foster a stronger, safer, and more prosperous business environment. The presence of city leadership at the luncheon underscores the vital, ongoing partnership between the Dallas business community and local government in shaping a dynamic economic future for the region.
