Longtime MCBA leader steps into the CEO role to advance the organization’s mission of strengthening civic engagement across DFW.

Julie Strum

The Metroplex Civic & Business Association is proud to announce the appointment of Julie Strum as our new Chief Executive Officer. A trusted leader within our organization for nearly four years, Julie steps into this role after serving as Chief Operating Officer, where she played a central part in advancing many of MCBA’s most successful initiatives, strengthening our operations, and expanding the value we deliver to our member companies and their employees across DFW. Julie’s career spans both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors, including senior nonprofit leadership roles as well as her own experience as a small business owner. That breadth has shaped a leadership philosophy centered on stewardship, service, and measurable community impact, values that align directly with MCBA’s mission of empowering, and mobilizing member company employees to become civically and charitably engaged throughout the Metroplex. During her tenure as COO, Julie was instrumental in strengthening MCBA’s operational backbone, enhancing member value, and helping the organization deliver on its mission with greater scale and consistency. Her promotion to CEO ensures continuity of leadership and a clear path forward as MCBA continues to expand its civic engagement work across the region. The appointment was made by the MCBA Board of Directors under the leadership of Chairman Amish Gupta.

Under Julie’s leadership, MCBA will continue expanding opportunities for member businesses and their employees across DFW to connect and engage in civic and charitable initiatives that strengthen local communities, from voting in local, nonpartisan elections to volunteering with impactful charities throughout the region. Please join the MCBA Board, staff, and membership in congratulating Julie on this well-earned appointment, and in supporting her vision for MCBA’s continued growth and community impact.
